7 Month Mark!!!!

Hey everyone, I cant believe that I have been out on my mission for 7 months. Time flies.
Here was my week:

Monday: We had our p-day. Then we went to see Bill our investigator. We talked about the scriptures and read some of them with him. He is doing great. Learning about the gospel. Then we went to see Flora. We found her last week. We stopped by and she was home. We talked to her about the Book of Mormon and she was excited to read it.

Tuesday: We had New Missionary training for Sister Parker. So we left early and headed to the Mission Home. The training was great. We learning a lot about the Why to things and how we can become better missionaries. We also learned how to teach the people more about the Restoration of the Gospel. It was a great training. Then we went to dinner with a member and met a guy named Charlie, He was interested in the BOM and a Bible. We talked with him about them and gave him the BOM and the Bible. We then got his information because he wanted to learn more. We realized he didn't live in our are so we had to give him to the other missionaries. It was a very cool experience.

Wednesday: We had District Meeting. We learned about asking questions and to listen to our investigators or people we are teaching. It was a great meeting. I learned a lot about listening to the person and trying to rely on the spirit to help teach them. After that we went and saw Bill. We talked about 2 Nephi 25 and how it can help us to understand more about the Isaiah chapters.

Thursday: We went to Almont. We first went and saw Holly. She is a member we are working with to get her back to church. We talked to her about church and the importance of going to church. We then went to help Arlene with her flower garden. We helped her cut down some of her flowers for the winter. It was great. We then taught Diane. We talked with her about the Women's Conference and what it was and she agreed to come with us.

Friday: We did our weekly planning. It was the last one for this transfer. It was sad. Transfers are next week. Then we had all day to go finding. It was fun. Then we went to a members house for dinner. It was great. They have little kids and they were so cute.

Saturday: We went and watered Peggy's flowers and then we went to Metamora to go contacting. They were having a fair. It was great. We talked to a couple people, no one was interested but that it ok. Then we went to the General Women's Conference at the Relief Society Presidents House. Our investigator Diane came with us. She was so happy she came to meet the members and then to watch it. She loved it. The conference was so good. I really liked President Uchdorfs talk on the parable of Ava and her aunt. It was a great story that relates to each of us.

Sunday: Was Fast Sunday for us. It was great. We had our investigator Diane come to church. She loved church. She felt the spirit so strong. It was a great Sabbath. We then went finding and had dinner at a members house.

Well I hope you all have a great week. This week is General Conference!!! I am so excited.

Mission Tour- Sep. 21, 2015

Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing great!!! This week has been great.

Monday: Was our P-day so we did our normal things. Then we went and met with Maryanne. She is a member. We talked to her about her family and also about church and her conversion. It was great. Then we went finding.

Tuesday: Was our Mission Tour. Elder Lawrence and His wife Sister Lawrence came from the Seventy. The conference was great. We talked about the 12 tribes of Israel and the gathering of the House of Israel. It was a great conference. We also talked about being obedient missionaries and God will help us to see miracles. After we got home from the Mission Tour, we had about 1 hr. until dinner so we decided to go finding. We went to cross street and headed down the block. We saw a lady, her name is Susan, we were able to talk to her a little bit on the side of the road and then she said she would love for us to come back in like 1/2 hr. and she would love to talk with us. So we went back and we talked to her about God and how he answers our prayers. She was so excited she shared her experiences and we were able to help her recognize the spirit. We are going back to see her this week. God blesses us for our obedience to his rules. We also saw our investigator Bill. We talked to him about faith and he was able to get a priesthood blessing to help with his trials. The blessing was so great.

Wednesday: We has a lot of time to go finding. We first went and watered Peggy's flowers. That was fun. Then we went all around. We were able to talk to some people, none were interested but we planted the seed. Then we went and had dinner at the Hurst's house. They are a great family. After that we saw Bill. We talked and read the scriptures with him. It was great.

Thursday: We went to Metamora and did some finding, We then went and saw Arlene and Diane. Arlene forgot about our lesson so we did a short lesson. We talked about the BOM and why it was so important. We talked about reading it and it will help her in her life. It was a great lesson. Then we met with Diane. We talked about prayer and the holy ghost. We talked about how God is there to help us and he wants us to come unto him.

Friday: We did our weekly planning. It is crazy it is week 5 of the transfer. We only have 2 left. Then we went to lunch with a member Sister Walters. It was great. Then we did a lot of finding. We met 2 new potential investigators so that is great.

Saturday: We went to Almont. We went and saw Holly. She is doing great. We talked to her about Enduring to the end and the talk Stay by the Tree. She liked the lesson and she was excited to read the talk. Then we went finding in Almont.

Sunday: We had church. It was a great Sabbath Day. We talked about being reverent, and then 2 talks from general conference in April. We talked about be without Guile and Serving others. They were great. Then we went contacting on a trail. It was great.

Hey Everyone, I hope you are all enjoying yourselves, This week has been great,

Monday: Was Labor Day. We did our normal things except emailing. Then we rested and went finding. A lot of people weren't home or were having family BBQs so it was hard but we kept going. 

Tuesday: We went and helped Peggy with some Service. We helped her get her husband Dick on the boat. That was fun. It was kind of scary, with the water and boat, but it was great. We also talked with her about the blessings that God gives us. It was great. Then we went finding for a while and then we went and saw Erik. We talked about service and missionary work.  

Wednesday: Was District Meeting. I loved it. We talked about relying on the spirit and how to recognize the spirit. I was asked to do the practice. I was nervous but it went really well. God helps us through our hard times and puts us out of our comfort zone. Then we did a whole lot of funding. It was great. 

Thursday: We met with our investigator AJ. We talked to him about enduring to the end. We read Lehis dream and he really liked that. We then went to lunch with the Clark family. That was great. We got to know them and we talked about relief Society and about church. After that we went and saw Arlene. She was a referral and she is interested in learning more about the church and we talked to her about the Restoration. It was a great lesson the spirit was so strong. 

Friday: We did our weekly planning and then we went and saw Bill. He is doing good. We talked to him about the priesthood and the importance of it. We talked to him about when he is baptized he can receive the priesthood and he wants to receive it, Then we went and stopped by to see the Bennions. They are a great family. We talked to them about their family and also about coming to church. It was great.

Saturday: We went contacting. Oxford was having a Vintage market so we went downtown to contact people. We talked to several people non were interested but that is ok. Then we went and met with Sister Robertson. We talked about how Jesus is our daily bread. We need to turn to Christ every day and he will guide our life's.

Sunday: It was a great Sabbath Day. We went to church and the talks were great. WE then met with President and Sister Schurtz.  They are in the Mission presidency. They talked to us about 56 ways to proclaim the Gospel. It was great. We then went finding. We saw a great miracle. we were finding and decided to go to a different area. So we choose a area and then had a prayer of faith. We got out of the car and headed to knock on some doors. At first no one really was interested. We were become a little bit discouraged and then we knocked on a door. A lady named Flora answered the door and invited us in. We talked about how we are Mormons and she got excited. She had met with the missionaries in the Philippines 20 years ago. She also has many LDS friends. We taught her about the Restoration and she loved learning about it. She said we can come back later this week. God does answer our prayers.

Hey Everyone, Sorry it is a day late but because of Labor Day we couldn't email. I hope you all had a great Labor Day. This was my week:

Monday: We did our normal P-day stuff. Cleaning, shopping, and laundry. Then we went and taught one of our investigators. We talked about Faith and how faith is like a seed. I love the way the BOM describes that story. In Alma 32. It was a great meeting and he was able to see how it related to a sees and how we need to nourish our seeds to grow, 

Tuesday: We had Zone Conference. I love meetings with the zone and with President and Sister Gerber. We talked about Leadership and how we are all leaders and how we can show our example by our obedience to keeping Gods commandments. We also talked about how to more effectively use the BOM to help teach and apply it to our investigators. I really liked this instruction and how the BOM is our keystone of our religion and it is how we can convert people an bring them closer to Christ. 

Wednesday: We went finding and talked to some people about the gospel. Then we went and saw our investigator AJ. He is on date to be baptized this week. We are so excited. We talked with him about the commandments and he loves to learn and wants to follow Christ. Then we went and saw Bill. We talked to him about the BOM and how we can better apply it to his life. He is understanding more and more every time we teach him. 

Thursday: We went and saw Peggy. We helped her in her house for the labor day party she was having. She is so great. I love helping her. Then we went finding. After that we went and saw Erik. He is a recent convert. We talked about the Priesthood and the differences and what they were. He is doing great. 

Friday: We did our weekly planning and then we went and saw Ashley. Her kids are so cute. we talked with her about how God answers her prayers and how we just need to rely on him and he will know what is best for us. Then we went finding. 

Saturday: We had exchanges. So Sister Edmonds( my MTC companion) and Sister Jones came to Oxford and we blitzed the area. That just means we all worked here in our area. Exchanges were fun I started with Sister Edmonds and we headed to Almont. We went finding and talked to several people. Then we met with Sister Clark and her family. We talked about the temple and made goals with her to get her back and coming to church. We then went and saw Jean. She is having some health issues but was so happy to see us. We talked to her about the BOM and she was excited to start reading. it. 

Sunday: Was fast Sunday. It was great. At church we talked a lot about Addictions and the addiction behavior programs that are offered. Then us missionaries taught the Gospel Principles class. We talked about Honesty. It was a great lesson. We then talked about the Atonement and also Addiction in Relief Society. It was great. I loved it.

Aug. 31st, 2015

Hey Everyone, I am doing pretty good. This week I got a new companion. Her name is Sister Parker. She is from Idaho. She is great she is from a family of 12 kids.

Monday: We did our normal stuff. We did our laundry and shopping and then we went back home and Sister Cruz started to pack. It was sad. Then we went and met with our Investigator Bill. We talked to him about wise man and foolish man story and how we need to build our foundation on Jesus Christ and it wont fall. I love that story.

Tuesday: We had transfers. I was so nervous. I am training a new Sister that just got here. Sister Parker is great. She is doing wonderful. Training is going good. It reminds me of when I was trained and to think that was 6 months ago. After transfers we went and helped Peggy with some service. I love helping her out. She is so grateful. Then we went finding. We talked to several people but none were really interested.

Wednesday: Was District Meeting. I gave an instruction on using the scriptures to study and teach. It seems like every time I give an instruction I learn more and more about how to use it to become a better missionary. It was great. Then we went and saw a less active the Hollyfields. We didn't really teach them we just talked with them and got to know them. We are going to see them this week. Then we went finding.

Thursday: We went to Almont and saw Holly. We taught her about Church prayer and Reading. CPR. We talked with her about the importance of them and how we can help her to start coming to church and reading. after that we had our meeting with our WML and had dinner at their house. Then we did some finding.

Friday: We did our weekly planning and the we went and saw Ashley. She is doing good. We talked to her about God and how he does answer out prayers in his own time. We must trust in him and pray. After that we went finding and then we saw Erik. We talked to him about the Priesthood. We talked about the role of the priesthood and how it works. It was a great lesson.

Saturday: We went finding all day. We didn't have any appointments and we were getting low on miles so we went finding and contacting all day. We were also able to go and meet a family in the ward the Morans. We talked to them and they are doing great, They pray every day together. We are excited to go back and see them.

Sunday: Was church. I love going to church. The Sabbath day is always a lot of fun. Our ward we talked about modesty and the importance of modesty. We then had the Temple Presidency come and talk about the temple. They talked on the importance of the temple, going to the temple and preparing to go. it was great. I love the temple.
